Below is my list of things that I typically bring for the car

| Munchies | 1 | Often so busy with photography that the only time to eat is while driving |
| Sunscreen | 1 | You will get sunburnt |
| Maps (AAA or other) - Eastern Sierra - Central California | 1 | It is nicer to not get lost |
| Dark Glasses | 1 | Save your eyes |
| Paper Towels or baby wipes | 1 | Nice for cleaning up dirt or food from fingers |
| Toilet paper | 1 | For when you are away too long, or park bathroom that is out |
| Water Backroads will be bring water, but for your driving you will need some | 1 | Usually a case, it does wonders for keeping the energy level up |
| Pillow so Passenger can sleep | 2 | It is very nice to take a nap while someone else drives |
| Flares | 2 | For when things go really wrong |
| Duck Tape | 2 | Great to fix things |
| Jumper Cables | 2 | You won't need them, but someone else will :-) |
| Towel | 2 | Nice to dry off when it is wet, and it doubles as an extra blanket |
| Blanket | 2 | It is very nice to sleep while someone else drives |
| GPS | 3 | Usually interesting, sometimes helpful |
| Inverter | 3 | Useful for charging batteries while driving and running laptops |
